So what is Joost?
It promises multi-channel Tv over the internet at broadcast quality.
Joost is a brand new service brought to you by the founders of Skype and it is planned to be free to users with the service paid for by advertisers.
Can I see a demo?
the best Joost demo i've seen so far has got to be this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kDM6f7kjKI
thanks to Richard Hull the administrator from JoostForums for the tip off.
It will give you as good idea of the smooth interface that awaits you.
How do I get it?
Well the service is in beta at the moment. You can sign up over at Joost.com to become a beta tester but don't hold your breath as they seem to have filled the quota currently . You may get lucky soon however, as the official Joost blog states fresh invites are ready to ship to a wider audience in the next couple of weeks (surely not April 1st?).
What are the requirements?
Well first I would advise sign up with an unlimited broadband tariff. This all works via p2p and there's going to be a lot of traffic circulating to keep everyone afloat. Plus you don't want to reach your monthly broadband quota half way through watching your favourite show, that really would spell d-i-s-a-s-t-e-r.
In terms of software, it's a free download available on Windows platform and Mac (Intel) with a Linux version to follow.

A myriad of forums have sprung up but my favourite is JoostForums yes that's JoostForums, I mention it twice because a) it's so damn good and b) it's so damn good again. Head over and tune in to make this the best officially unofficial Joost forum.
